True Christians

"In truth, there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross" -- Friedrich Nietzsche. (Born in 1844 as the son of a Lutheran pastor. He rejected his father's faith and became a lifelong rebel against Christianity. He spent his last decade in mental darkness and died in 1900).

Excuse me Herr Nietzsche, you’re not accurate. That was Christ, not Christian. A Christian is the follower of Christ. He or she is the one who surrenders his or her life to the Lordship of Jesus. True, there are many Christians who don’t live christianly and become the stumbling block for those who want to know Christ. But there are still many true Christians. I am not talking about Maximilian Kolbe or Mother Theresa. I am talking about ordinary Christians who are striving to follow the footsteps of Jesus day by day. Common Christians who failed many times and yet do not give up on themselves, believing for the bounteous grace of God to change them. True Christians are not perfect individuals. True Christians are those who are being perfected - in a progressive reformation - into the likeness of the One who died on the cross.

"In truth, there was only one perfect man, and he died on the cross" -- nurhayatna :)
